National Seminar on “Energy Access and Equity in India: Environmental, Social and Policy Perspectives”

The National Seminar on “Energy Access and Equity in India: Environmental, Social and Policy Perspectives” aims to create a focused platform for dialogue on one of India’s most pressing development challenges—ensuring inclusive, affordable, and sustainable energy access. As India advances toward renewable energy expansion and climate commitments, significant disparities in access, affordability, and reliability persist across regions and socio-economic groups.

This seminar will bring together academicians, researchers, policy makers, and practitioners to examine the environmental, social, and governance dimensions of energy access. The deliberations will explore themes such as energy poverty, renewable energy transitions, decentralized energy systems, just transition frameworks, and policy innovations for inclusive energy planning.

Through keynote lectures, technical sessions, and panel discussions, the seminar seeks to foster interdisciplinary engagement and generate evidence-based recommendations that contribute to equitable energy policies and sustainable development in India.
